Nearly 150 women’s hockey fans braved the cold and snowy weather to gather at the Rough and Tumble Pub in Ballard on Monday, December 19 for the Women’s Pro Hockey Seattle Rivalry Series Watch Party. Fans cheered on Team USA and Team Canada in the fifth game of the 2022-2023 series, which was played in Los Angeles, CA. Team Canada won the match in an exciting overtime victory, tightening the series to a 3-2 USA lead in the seven-game series.

THE PUB

The Rough and Tumble Pub – the second women’s sports bar in the world – played host to hockey players, teams, and fans who want women's pro hockey in Seattle by creating a special hockey-themed cocktail (The Penalty Box), serving pub fare, and turning their 18 television screens to the women’s hockey game.

DOOR PRIZES

A highlight of the evening was handing out door-prize gift bags before the game and during intermissions. Ten prize bags were overflowing with goodies, apparel, and swag from campaign supporting organizations. Women’s Pro Hockey Seattle provided three gifts that featured branded Hockey Softie creatures, handmade from Seattle Thunderbird game-worn socks, and the grand prize -- a Women’s Pro Hockey Seattle jersey signed by Olympian Kelly Stephens Tysland.

Generous gift bags were provided by:

· Kaitlan Vasquez

DONATE TO THE CAUSE

Women’s Pro Hockey Seattle also announce a fundraising effort to bring their mascot, Biscuit, to life in full-size form and also to raise funds for future events. The goal is to have Biscuit out in the community at mascot events, parades, fairs, festivals, and local markets to connect and rally more fans together in preparation for a future team. Biscuit will also promote and grow the game of hockey and raise funds for various charities. To help ‘Help Bring Biscuit to Life’ please consider a donation on the campaign’s GoFundMe website.
